A Laundry Room in Trento, Italy, Designed to Give Space Back

In Trento, Italy, Alexandra Designer rethought the laundry area as part of the home, not just a functional corner. With Foxydry Air integrated into bespoke cabinetry, the project frees up floor space and brings order, calm and practicality to everyday living.

Some homes are not defined by size, but by the quality of the choices made within them. The way space flows. The way daily routines are considered from the start. The way functionality becomes part of the design, rather than something added afterwards.

That is exactly what happens in this project by Alexandra Designer in Trento, Italy, where the goal was to create a home that feels both practical and visually balanced. A space shaped by thoughtful proportions, clean lines and a careful dialogue between materials, colours and everyday needs.

At the heart of the project was a clear idea: to create an interior where beauty and function could exist in the same language. The spaces were organised rationally, with smooth movement, efficient use of surfaces and an atmosphere that feels warm, contemporary and easy to live in.

And in a home designed with this level of care, even the laundry area had to follow the same logic.

Solving a Real Everyday Problem

When planning the laundry space, the aim was not simply to fit in appliances or storage. The real challenge was to eliminate the traditional drying rack entirely and avoid the visual and physical clutter it usually brings into the home.

That need led Alexandra and the homeowners to look for a solution that could free up the floor, simplify daily routines and preserve the overall harmony of the room. During the design phase, they discovered Foxydry Air and immediately recognised it as the right fit for the project.

It was not just about drying clothes. It was about protecting the feeling of the space.

A Functional Choice That Supports the Design

One of the most interesting aspects of this project is how naturally the drying solution becomes part of the architecture of the home. Instead of introducing another object into the room, Foxydry Air was integrated into a dedicated cabinet above the washer and dryer, keeping the space clean, streamlined and purposeful.

When closed, the cabinetry preserves a calm and minimal look. When opened, it reveals a practical laundry system designed to work efficiently without taking over the room. This balance between discretion and usefulness is what makes the solution feel so aligned with the rest of the project.

It is a good example of what thoughtful design can do: not just hide a function, but give it a proper place.

Designed from the Beginning, Not Added Later

The renders shared by Alexandra make one thing especially clear: this was never a last-minute decision. Foxydry Air was part of the design thinking from the start.

That matters, because the best interiors are often the ones where practical needs are anticipated early, rather than solved later with compromise. In this project, the drying area was conceived as an integrated part of the home, with the necessary ceiling reinforcements prepared before installation to ensure both stability and a seamless final result.

This kind of planning changes the outcome completely. The space does not feel adapted around a product. It feels designed as a whole.

More Space, Less Visual Noise

In small or carefully organised homes, the real luxury is often not having more things, but having less visual noise. Fewer interruptions. Less clutter on the floor. More breathing room.

That is why replacing a traditional drying rack with a ceiling-mounted solution can have such a strong impact. It improves how the room looks, but also how it works on a daily basis. The space becomes easier to move through, easier to keep tidy and more consistent with the rest of the home.

In this project, Foxydry Air helps achieve exactly that. It supports the daily routine, but without demanding constant space in return.

A Better Way to Live with Everyday Function

Alexandra describes the project as a balance between design and function, and this laundry area expresses that idea perfectly. Nothing feels purely technical, and nothing feels decorative for its own sake. Every element contributes to a home that is both useful and visually meaningful.

That is what makes this project so compelling. It shows that even one of the most practical areas of the home can be treated with intention. That a laundry space can be organised, elegant and fully integrated into the life of the house.

Sometimes, good design is not about adding more. It is about removing what gets in the way and making everyday life feel lighter.

And in this home in Trento, Italy, that is exactly what has happened.
